    Group Activities

NDIS group activities are designed to help participants develop new skills, build social connections, and engage in the community. Some examples of group activities that may be available to NDIS participants include:

Skill-building workshops like cooking classes, art or craft workshops, or computer training.

Social groups that meet regularly to engage in activities such as sports, games, or outings to local attractions.

Support groups that provide a safe and supportive space for NDIS participants to share their experiences, discuss challenges, and offer mutual support.

Cultural and community activities such as festivals or volunteering opportunities to connect with others and engage in their community.

Suitable and available activities for participants may vary depending on their individual goals and needs, as well as the services and supports that are included in their NDIS plan. Our care workers and support providers can help NDIS participants to connect with and attend various group activities for social and mental development.

Development Of Daily Care And Life Skills (0117)

People with disabilities can avail support and assistance in various fields of life under their NDIS plan. We offer such assistance through our team of qualified, trained, and experienced support workers. However, even though your living standard improves with the help of such care providers, you still have to rely on them for different activities.

That is where the Development of Daily Care and Life Skills can be useful for you. Under this NDIS service, our care workers will provide you with specialized training and development to acquire and improve different lifeskills that can help you live independently, such as:

Accessing different areas of your home

    Diet and nutrition

    Daily chores

    Transport

    Social and communication skills

    Capacity Building supports

Capacity Building supports are an important category of services under the NDIS approach. They are services that help people develop the skills they need to lead happy, independent lives.

Capacity Building is different from Core supports in that the funds are used to support goals that specifically build on your long-term independence. They are usually provided in addition to Core supports, which ensures that you can comfortably perform normal daily tasks.

For example, a Core support might be using funds for delivery of meals on a weekly basis, whereas a Capacity Building support will provide you with the knowledge, skills and education to prepare healthy meals yourself.

With so many goal categories and supports to choose from, it can be hard to decide exactly where you want to focus your efforts. That’s why it’s important to prioritise your needs early in your plan application or review, as your funding will be allocated between 9 different categories that dictate specifically how you use your funds. It is also why it is important to work with the right support network in the sector to ensure you are looked after in this regard.

EmpowerU helps connect you with talented professionals in your area to provide a growing range of NDIS Capacity Building supports. This includes developmental educators, psychologists, counsellors and other therapists and specialists.

EmpowerU has the resources and experience to help you with the Capacity Building supports in your NDIS plan. Our team of highly trained support staff are also ready to support you so you can live more independently and achieve your life goals.
